Can I use Dropbox to sync the Screensaver?

This is possible in our Plus & Enterprise versions. You can use Dropbox to sync files over to the iPad so they are stored locally. A couple of examples:

1 video > multiple kiosks

If you are syncing one video to more than one kiosk, you'd probably want to use the Shared Folder to sync the video file (that way you aren't storing the same file multiple places on Dropbox and using up a lot of your Dropbox space.)

In this case, on each iPad in Kiosk Pro settings, you'd point them all to the same Shared Content folder through the setting 'Shared Content Folder' > 'SharedContent' (or 'Group1' or whatever you wanted to call that folder). Then in Dropbox, you'd open that 'SharedContent' folder and place the video file that you want to use there. Once the kiosk presentation is running (Kiosk Pro can't sync while you are in the menu), Kiosk Pro will sync that video file to the Kiosk Pro Documents folder and you'll set the video screensaver setting to point to the file locally in that location.

So if in Dropbox, you had:

Dropbox/Apps/Kiosk Pro/SharedContent/filename.mp4

You would set your Screensaver to:

filename.mp4

You can also use subfolders if you want. If in Dropbox, you had:

Dropbox/Apps/Kiosk Pro/SharedContent/video/filename.mp4

You would set your Screensaver to:

video/filename.mp4

1 video > 1 kiosk

If you were syncing a different video to each kiosk, you'd probably want to use the Unique Content Folder to sync the video file.

In this case, on that iPad in Kiosk Pro settings, you'd need to set a Unique iPad ID (for our example here, 'kiosk1'), which then identifies that kiosk in Dropbox. Then in Dropbox, you'd open the 'kiosk1' folder and place the video file that you want to use there. Once the kiosk presentation is running (again Kiosk Pro can't sync while you are in the menu), Kiosk Pro will sync that video file to the Kiosk Pro Documents folder inside a folder that it will automatically create called 'UniqueContent' and you'll set the video screensaver setting to point to the file locally in that location.

So if in Dropbox, you had:

Dropbox/Apps/Kiosk Pro/kiosk1/filename.mp4

You would set your Screensaver to:

UniqueContent/filename.mp4
