Should I update?

Once a kiosk is deployed and a stable configuration has been achieved, we generally do not recommend updating either the app or the iOS/iPadOS if there is no reason to do so. If you do choose to update the iOS/iPadOS, we generally recommend updating the app at the same time.

You might consider updating if:

  • A new feature has been added to the app that you'd like to use.
  • You are adding additional devices to your deployment and want to keep all devices on the same app version of iOS/iPadOS version.
  • You are having a problem with the app (as the issue may have been resolved in a more recent update).

Before updating to a new version of Kiosk Pro or iOS/iPadOS, there are a few things to check:

Is there a known issue with the new version that will affect your kiosk? You can find a list of known issues here.  

Have you tested on a non-public device? It is not possible to downgrade to previous versions after updating, so we always recommend testing with your content and settings on a device that is not a part of your live deployment.
